Blisters are watery fluid collecting under the skin, caused by friction, burns, insect stings, or contact with irritating substances. Usually only the top layers of skin are affected. Consult a doctor if blisters become painful, or inflamed. Keep a blister clean and protect it from pressure and irritation of all kinds. Keep the area clean to prevent infection. Expose it to the air as much as possible. But cover it when there is a danger of dirt getting in.
